Summer Bible Challenge Week 2

It’s week 2 of the Summer Bible Challenge! If you are just joining, you are not late. Each week starts a new theme for students to participate in. This week, there are two themes to choose from:

For younger students, this week’s Bible reading is all about BIRDS.

  • Noah sends out birds (Gen. 8:1-12)

  • Ravens feed Elijah (1 Kings 17:1-7)

  • God sends quail (Exodus 16:1-21, Num. 11:1-120, 31-34)

For older students, this week’s Bible reading is three parables of Christ.

  • Parable of the Tenants (Matt. 21:33-45)

  • Parable of the Unmerciful Servant (Matt. 18:23-35)

  • Parable of the Widow and the Judge (Luke 18:1-8)

Parents, which theme is best for your children is up to you. Reading and discussing the Bible and creating together is the point—whichever theme you choose!

So what do we do?

some of the awesome projects from week 1!

Start by reading one of the stories each day. Then, brainstorm the best creative response to this week’s readings and complete a project together. Some weeks you will have time for more complex things and other weeks you may not have time for much, but reading and discussing together can still happen no matter what.

Ideas for younger student crafts:

For the older student challenge (the parables)—you can come up with any project that reminds you of what the parable was about. This week, for example, for the parable of the tenants, students could make a craft about grapes to remind them of the vineyard. Use your imagination!
