Have you joined us for the Summer Bible Challenge yet? It’s not too late. This week, the older students are reading 3 parables:
Parable of the Lost Sheep (Luke 15:1-7, Matt. 18:12-14)
Parable of the Lost Coin (Luke 15:8-10)
Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32)
After reading and discussing those parables together, have your students create something to help them remember what they learned. This week, our daughter is working on a comic strip about the lost sheep. I can’t wait to see all the creative ideas out there! Post a photo of your creations with #SummerBibleChallenge2024 or send them to us at steve@simplyrevised.org, and we will share them on our social media or website.
The younger children are reading Bible stories about snakes this week.
Aaron’s Rod Becomes a Serpent (Exodus 7:8-13)
Moses and the Bronze Serpent (Numbers 21:4-9)
Paul Bitten by a Viper (Acts 28:1-6)
Other—Adam and Eve (Gen. 3:1-19)
Then just have your child make a craft, snack, or picture about snakes.
Here are some ideas:
paint a stick to look like a snake
there is a snake craft in this lesson
make a paper chain snake
create salt dough snakes together
an easy paper plate snake craft
use canned biscuits to roll out biscuit snakes. Add food coloring spots if you like. Bake and eat. (But don’t forget the photo!)
Share your photos with #SummerBibleChallenge2024 or send them to us at steve@simplyrevised.org and we will share them on our social media or website.
Feel free to share our challenge with others. It's a great way to get some fun Bible learning in this summer with your kids. Here is the introductory post with all the whole summer's schedule.
