"Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation."
(Colossians 1:21-22, NIV)
As we gather around the Lord’s Table, we remember the sacrifice that made reconciliation possible. At one time, we were alienated from God—separated by sin, enemies in our minds, and lost in ways that led us further from Him. But through Jesus, we are drawn near to God.
The bread reminds us of His body, placed on the cross to bear our sin. The cup represents the blood He shed, cleansing us and making us holy in God’s sight. Through Him, we are now without blemish and free from accusation—not because of our righteousness, but because of His.
As we partake, let us reflect on the depth of His love and the power of His sacrifice. This meal is a declaration that we are no longer separated but reconciled, no longer enemies but beloved children. Let us eat and drink in remembrance of Him.
