The challenges began at the end of May when Steve lost his day job of nearly 24 years. This unexpected change left them reeling and unsure of their next steps. This decision was driven by the need to generate income while maintaining their focus on ministry.

Starting a new business from scratch is never easy, and Steve and Brenda faced numerous hurdles. They had to buy new equipment and rebuild their customer base. Despite the challenges, they were grateful for the support of friends who helped spread the word about their business on social media.

Just as they were getting their lawn care business off the ground, Hurricane Beryl hit their area. Although it was only a category one hurricane, it caused significant damage to their home, including a destroyed patio cover and a damaged chimney. The storm also left many of their neighbors without power for weeks. Despite these setbacks, Steve and Brenda remained focused on their goals and continued to push forward.

Throughout this tumultuous time, their faith has been a guiding light. They have sought God's guidance and wisdom, believing that He is not surprised by any of these events. Their ultimate goal is to create multiple streams of income that will allow them to dedicate more time to their ministry and SimplyRevised.
