Communion With Christ

At the Lord's Table, we have an opportunity not just to remember, but to participate in the deep communion we have with Christ through His sacrifice. This time is about more than just His past actions; it's about our present participation in the life He has given us.

John 6:53-57 (NIV)

"Jesus said to them, "Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me."

Jesus uses a metaphor to explain faith and life in him. Communion is a powerful symbol of our connection with Christ through His body and blood. When we partake in the bread and the cup, we are reminded that we participate with Christ. Christ is with us, in us, and working through us.

This communion draws us closer to Him, transforming our hearts and renewing our spirits. It's a reminder that we are connected to a Savior who knows our struggles, bears our burdens, and strengthens us with His presence.

As we eat and drink today, let's embrace the life that flows from Him to us and let our hearts be filled with the hope that comes from being united with Christ—our Savior.
